Christmas toys for hurricane-hit Princeville

Dec 19, 2016 | FaithHealth Community, FaithHealth Stories

FaithHealthNC partnered with other divisions and departments in Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center to deliver a pick-up truck and trailer filled with toys for the children at Princeville Elementary School in Princeville, NC.  Pictured are Rev. Leland Kerr, Baptist Healthcare Liaison with FaithHealthNC (left) and Rev. Tony Brown, Baptist Connector with FaithHealthNC who delivered the toys.

Princeville Elementary School was flooded and closed following Hurricane Matthew in October. The school was relocated and now meets in Tarboro in an administrative building of Edgecombe County Schools, a former older school building. Princeville was one of the hardest hit communities in North Carolina following Hurricane Matthew, and many of the childrens’ homes were damaged or demolished by the floods. Donors of the toys wanted the children to receive toys and gifts for Christmas.
