A Shared Mission of Healing

Mother’s Day Offering 2017 Materials Now Available!

Feb 14, 2017 | FaithHealth Education, FaithHealth Resources

Yes, it’s time to start thinking about Mother’s Day!

Gifts to the Mother’s Day Offering and the care of Wake Forest Baptist Health had a tremendous impact on the road to healing for those featured in this year’s video: the Clark family, Rev. Mark Wood and our North Carolina neighbors helped by Connectors such as June Britt and FaithHealth volunteers.

How can you get involved?

Order Mother’s Day Offering materials and share them with your church. Please call FaithHealthNC (336-716-3027) or email Rev. Leland A. Kerr to order to order a Mother’s Day Packet or bulletin inserts, posters, offering envelopes, and magazines. Materials can also be downloaded at www.mothersdayoffering.org.

Develop a plan

  • Talk with the pastor about the best ways to promote the Offering.
  • Encourage the church to pray for this ministry.
  • Enlist champions for the Mother’s Day Offering. Consider inviting church members who have experience with serious illness — as a patient, family member, or a medical care giver — to help develop the plan.
  • Set and announce an Offering goal for your church.
  • Display Mother’s Day Offering posters.
  • Distribute bulletin inserts during the Week of Prayer (May 7-14, 2017)
  • Promote the Offering in your church newsletter, using a brief article or clip art (download at www.mothersdayoffering.org).

Provide “Mission Moments”

  • These can be during worship services, Sunday School classes or mission groups. Talk with your pastor about the best times.
  • Share a story from the linked DVD at the beginning of worship or during the Offertory.
  • Share a brief story of a patient or family who has been helped by the Mother’s Day Offering  from the linked materials.
  • Invite a speaker by contacting Rev. Leland A. Kerr (336-716-3027 or [email protected]).

Provide mission programs

  • For a Wednesday evening service or missions group, share the full DVD (13:52 minutes) and/or other stories from previous years (at www.mothersdayoffering.org).
  • Encourage youth and children’s groups to develop creative mission projects to raise funds (biking events, bake sales, car washes, yard services).
  • Encourage adult fund raising projects such as yard sales, pancake breakfasts or supper events.

Use online resources at www.mothersdayoffering.org

  • Please visit our upgraded website to see videos and read powerful, inspiring testimonials.
  • Download promotional resources.
  • Please share the website with church members.
